Karen Litzinger has a unique combination of speaking interests rooted in her background as a licensed professional counselor. Her primary topics for speaking and facilitating are business etiquette, career planning, and pet bereavement.

Her career planning and pet bereavement interests actually have a common thread with the topic of loss. Karen has worked with many people dealing with job loss, although her focus in speaking is to help people proactively find career paths with meaning. She works with groups of all ages from high school through retirement.
Karen’s has had a lifelong interest in animals and conducted an internship through the Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement, as well as received a Bereavement Facilitator Certification. Following the death of her two dogs within four months of each other, she produced the CD, Heal Your Heart: Coping with the Loss of a Pet.
Past clients have included The PNC Financial Services Group, CVS Pharmacy, Marsh, Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Association. “Engaging, articulate, and energetic” is how Karen’s past clients describe her speaking style that blends entertainment with education.
Karen was previously Director of Career Services at Chatham College and Career Center Associate Director at Carnegie Mellon University.
Karen has an M.A. from Michigan State University in Higher Education Administration and a B.A. in Business Administration from Duquesne University. She has been recognized by the National Career Development Association with the special status of Master Career Development Professional and she is a professional member of the National Speakers Association.
